“Coming off a week long tour of Vermont and listening to local leaders discuss Vermont’s economy and infrastructure needs, Sen. Sanders hosted a town meeting in Derby Line, VT on the economic and social impact of long lines and sometimes hours-long delays at checkpoints along the border of the U.S. and Canada. Invited was Border Protection Assistant Commissioner Thomas Winkowski to see the situation firsthand. – -Each of the panelists took their turn describing the issues that have arisen due to tightening border security. These were followed by a long question and answer period where local town members were able to express their frustrations and ask pointed questions on what is going to be done about this very contentious issue. – – – -To view video click here“
