WASHINGTON, April 14 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) issued the following statement today after the White House announced that President Barack Obama intends to remove Cuba from the United States’ list of nations that sponsor terrorism:
“While we have our strong differences with Cuba, it is not a terrorist state. I applaud President Obama for moving aggressively to develop normal diplomatic relations. Fifty years of Cold War is enough. It is time for Cuba and the United States to turn the page and normalize relations.”
