The American people are hurting. Millions are unemployed and cannot pay their rent or put food on the table. I shouldn’t have to say this, but here’s a message to President Trump, Senator McConnell and my Republican colleagues: the American people desperately needed you to act months ago, before critical assistance lapsed. They cannot wait until September. Perhaps you should actually listen to the countless stories of those who are struggling in every corner of our country. But maybe you just don’t give a damn.
