Senator Bernie Sanders, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Veteran Affairs Committee, held a press conference in Burlington with the Director of the White River Junction VA Medical Center, Deborah Amdur. They discussed the excellent comprehensive care being provided to Vermont veterans by the VA and asked veterans to call 1-866-687-8387 to get more information about benefits. Before the press conference, the Senator and Director Amdur toured the soon to be opened new VA Community Based Outreach Clinic in Burlington, which will open on Lakeside Avenue this October.
