MEDIA ADVISORY: Sanders, Casar to Host FTC Chair Lina Khan, Discuss Corporate Power and Worker Freedom with Texas Workers

*** Wednesday, October 2 at 11:30 a.m. ***

AUSTIN, Texas – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Congressman Greg Casar (D-Texas) on Wednesday will welcome Lina Khan, chair of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), to Austin for a discussion with Texas labor leaders and workers on corporate power and worker freedom.

The FTC enforces the nation’s antitrust and consumer protection laws. Under Chair Khan’s leadership, the agency has sought to block mergers that would reduce competition for union labor, attacked consolidation that harms health care workers, and issued a rule that bans noncompete agreements, which would protect more than 10 million workers in Texas from being trapped in their jobs.
