BURLINGTON, Vt., Aug. 26 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and his office this week are hosting a series of events throughout the state for seniors and older Vermonters. An annual tradition, the events are an opportunity for hundreds of older Vermonters to come together, build community, hear updates from Washington, and discuss the issues facing their communities. Last year marked the return of these events following the COVID pandemic.
“Every year, I look forward to these events,” said Sanders. “It is important that seniors and older Vermonters have an opportunity to discuss the issues of the day. But it is just as important that they have a place to come together, enjoy delicious food, listen to great music, and connect with friends and neighbors.”
This summer’s series kicked off on Sunday in Burlington and will continue this week with events in St. Johnsbury, Newport, Bennington, Barre, Brattleboro, and Castleton. Music and free food will be provided at each event.
Sanders will be in attendance on Tuesday at the St. Johnsbury and Newport locations. Further attendance to be announced.
