MEDIA ADVISORY: Sanders to Hear From Students, Educators in Colchester and Essex Junction

Media availability with Sanders will follow the Student Town Meeting in Essex Junction

BURLINGTON, Vt., Jan. 11 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the incoming chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, on Thursday will speak with students during several classroom visits at Mallets Bay School in Colchester. Following the classroom visits, Sanders will travel to Essex High School to hold a student town meeting, meet with educators, and take a tour of the Center for Technology, Essex. Sanders will be available to media following the Essex Westford Student Town Meeting.

“Last year, I was lucky enough to hear from thousands of Vermont students all across our state,” said Sanders. “Every time, I am impressed by their insights and ideas about how we move forward in our communities, in our state, and in our country. To my mind, if we are to address the many crises we face, we must listen to young people and encourage them to engage in the political process. I very much look forward to the discussions this week.”
