MEDIA ADVISORY: Sanders To Hold Statewide Telephone Town Meeting With Vermonters

Burlington, Vt., Feb. 24 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will hold a statewide telephone town meeting on Wednesday, March 2 to hear directly from Vermonters about the challenges they face and how the federal government can address the issues that matter most to them.

Participants will be able to submit questions in advance or ask them live during the meeting.
“The last two years have been incredibly difficult for all of us,” said Sanders. “I want to hear directly from Vermonters about how they are doing, what they have learned, and what they need. At the end of the day, we have got to make sure the federal government is working for our people and our communities. The thing that sticks with me each time I hold one of these town meetings is that, from issues with the postal service, the existential threat of climate change, the high costs of prescription drugs, or the need to repair our roads and bridges, Vermonters are paying attention and know the issues that need addressing. I also know that many Vermonters have excellent ideas about how we can make their lives better. I very much look forward to the discussion.”

The telephone town meeting will begin at 5 p.m. Many Vermonters will receive a call inviting them to participate and another call when the town meeting begins to connect them to the event. Anyone who would like to ensure they receive a call to join the event can register here. Vermonters can also watch the livestream of the event at https://www.facebook.com/senatorsanders.
