WASHINGTON, April 1 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) issued the following statement today after Tik Root, a Middlebury College student, was released from custody in Syria.
      
“We are delighted that he’s coming home safe and sound to his family and friends in Vermont.”
