BURLINGTON, May 5 — Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) announced today the promotion of longtime aide Kathryn Becker Van Haste to fill the role of State Director.
Senator Sanders said: “Kathryn has been an outstanding member of my office for the last 7 years where she has focused on health care, the high cost of prescription drugs and the needs of veterans. I am delighted to have her as our new state director where I am confident she’ll do an outstanding job for all Vermonters.”
Ms. Van Haste began working for Senator Sanders in 2013 in Washington, D.C. where she served on both his Senate Veterans Affairs and Budget Committee staffs. Most recently, she has worked in the Vermont office on health care and veterans’ issues. As State Director, Ms. Van Haste will lead the Senator’s Vermont staff, who works tirelessly to assist Vermonters throughout the state with federal issues. Vermonters who need assistance, especially during this difficult time, are encouraged to call the office anytime at 802-862-0697.
Ms. Van Haste earned her B.A. from the University of Vermont, her M.A. from Norwich University, and M.S. in Health Care Delivery from Dartmouth College.
