It’s no secret that the last two years have been incredibly difficult for all of us. Please join me for a statewide telephone town meeting on Wednesday, March 2 at 5pm to discuss what we’ve gone through, where we are now, and what the future will bring.

Do You Need Help With High Heating Bills?
As you know, the bad news is that the cost of home heating is soaring. The good news is that, thanks to a major increase in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan, Vermont is getting a record $49 million – more than double our usual amount – to help you pay for heating bills, furnaces and fuel tank replacements or repairs. This means that more Vermonters than ever before will get the help they need from this program, which is known as LIHEAP.
Ice Fishing on Lake Bomoseen and Lake St. Catherine
Whether it’s summer, winter, spring or fall, Vermonters enjoy the outdoors. In the midst of our long and cold winters, one of the outdoor pleasures for many Vermonters is ice fishing. Recently, my team went out to Lake Bomoseen and Lake St. Catherine to hear from some ice fishing enthusiasts about why they love the sport.

We will be speaking with middle school students at 6:30 p.m. and our discussion with high school students will begin at 7:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join for the entire event.
We asked about your country store. I could not believe the response we received.
Last week, I asked you to tell me about your favorite country store. I could not believe the overwhelming response we received. Many of these comments were very moving, and reaffirmed to me how much country stores mean to Vermonters and our sense of community. There were just too many responses to print them all, but I thought you would enjoy reading some of them.
